ACCESS GRANTED
If the ball gets stuck going back and forth, it will re-angle directions eventually, so that you're not stuck in a loop! The rotation reset works, but is not configured to be drastic enough, so I will fit that into the next update when I can. For now, either wait out those moments, or restart via level select.
Loosely inspired by the cult classic, Hackers (1995).
Brick breaker / Breakout-style gameplay. Just a paddle and a ball versus a wall of blocks ... or is it?
CONTROLS
- MOVE PADDLE: Left & Right ARROW KEYS
- TYPING CHALLENGES: Keyboard (Type A–Z commands).
- SERVE: SPACE BAR
- PAUSE: Press Tab or ESC
SUMMARY
Paddle = your access point into the system. A firewall of blocks sits between you and the goal: peel back security and reach the mainframe.
Regular blocks crack under hits. Command blocks need two steps: hit with the ball, then type the command.
A miss (ball leaves through the bottom) fills its own strike bar once, and then you can serve again. Command (cmd) typing challenges trigger slowed time until the prompt clears.
Two metrics of failure: ball misses and typing failures. If either reaches four strikes, the run ends.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Input: keyboard required (paddle + typing).
- Web (browser build): modern browser with WebGL enabled
- Windows build: 64-bit Windows 10 or newer
- Display: 1280×720 or larger recommended; smaller windows work but HUD may feel cramped.

Dude pretty sick game! I like the concept, it's honestly a fun twist on breakout.
Thank you for playing!!
I was worried it would be too difficult so I widened the paddle a bit after release, and the ball behavior could still be refined more so I may work on that.
I'll prob update this again, but it'll have to wait till I'm done with at least a few levels for a Trenchglow content update 😅
The game is fun. I like the idea. It is a pleasant little keyboarding game. For whatever reason, the browser game runs a little slow on my setup. I have a modern and reasonable rig. But my browser often is weak though still, just wanted to give a heads up ! Thanks for sharing the game :)
Hey, glad you enjoyed it!
When you say it felt slow, was it more like frame drops/stuttering or more like an input delay? Also, what browser were you using, and was it consistent throughout the game or only at certain moments in gameplay?
Thanks for playing, and for the feedback!
